Tips For Starting A Travel Vlog On YouTube

Take Photos and Videos As Reminders

Building off my last point where I said to record extra footage as remainders of what you thought and felt about a location, I’d say also take extra footage and photos as well to act as reminders of what the footage you’re capturing is.

Photos or video of street signs, names of shops, restaurants or businesses and so on are super valuable when creating your vlog. You ate at a really good restaurant and want to talk about it on the vlog? Great, but what was it’s name and what was the food like? It doesn’t always feel appropriate to vlog in the middle of a busy restaurant (and even less so in a quiet one), but viewers of your vlog will often be happy to hear food recommendations. So it’s always handy to snap a few pictures as reminders of things that you may want to talk about later.

And as a bonus tip on this, you can also add the photos you take into the videos and add voice over which can sometimes be as valuable as videos or more so if a clear image highlights something better then a video would.
