The Semi Finals of the Extreme Improv Xstreamed are almost set with the result of tonight’s fifth quarter final round match up! The Watermelons defeated The Unicorns to advance into the Semi finals alongside the already qualified Mafia team.
The final piece of the puzzle for the six semi finalists will fall into place tomorrow night when new team The Karate Crabs will take on last year’s Grand Finalist team The Vampire Penguins.
A noticable trend in the quarter finals has been that the team that has won the final round, the Extreme Monologue has gone on to be defeated after the final vote. The only exception to this rule was the tie break situation between the Exploding Fish and the werewolves.
This show was the second time the Unicorns have been eliminated in the first round of the Team Championship competition. It was also the first win for the Watermelons team who were not voted to take part in the previous Team Championship, but won the audience vote to be included in the 2022 event.
