Cotswold Motoring Museum – Bourton on the Water Travel Vlog: Jet Lagged and Loving It Season 3 Episode 6

The Cotswold Motoring Musuem in Bourton on the Water is a highlight of a place to visit in the gentle Cotswold village. Once you’ve had a chance to visit some nice antiques or buy some fancy soaps and sweets from the local shops, it’s great to go into the Motoring Musuem.

The Musuem is bigger on the inside than we first expected, which is fitting as to get into the main museum you have to enter through a Tardis door from Doctor Who.

Inside you’ll be able to see (but not touch) loads of vintage cars, peek into old caravans which have been dressed to look like they may have back in the day and see all kinds of other objects from the eras from which the cars on display came from.

Going through the museum is like a walk through time as you start with some of the earliest cars and progress through the decades through the 30s, 40s, 50s, etc and see cars from up until the 1970s or 1980s.

Highlights include seeing the actual Brum from the children’s TV show from the 1990s and early 2000s. Apparently parts of the show were filmed at the museum as well. You’ll also see lots of cardboard cut outs of famous people form back in the day as if they are sat in the driving seats of the cars and see the likes of Kennth Williams and Leslie Philips there.

Old cars include the Morris 10, the Jaguar MK V from 1951 and the ill fated Sinclair C5 electric tricycle…thing from Clive Sinclair back in the 1980s. It’s a far stretch from the electric cars from Elon Musk and Teslar today!
