The Extreme Improv XStreamed World Championship Festival 2021 is an virtual theatre festival hosted by Extreme Improv during the months of July and August in 2021.
This will be the second annual Extreme Improv Xstreamed World Championship Festival, and our third virtual theatre festival after last year’s World and Team Championship festivals in August and November.
The festival will feature guest shows and acts, workshops, long form and short form shows, podcasts and much more throughout the month.
Highlights of the festival include:
Extreme Improv XStreamed World Championship
The biggest event as part of the festival is the Extreme Improv Xstreamed World Championship tournament, which in 2020 was won by Ashley Edwards. The Extreme Improv XStreamed World Championship tournament is a multi night tournament from Monday July 19th-Saturday July 31st. This tournament will feature 8 Quarter-final rounds, 2 Semi-final rounds and a Grand Finale.
The tournament will will be a friendly competition where performers will compete as individuals to crown the 2021 Extreme Improv XStreamed World Champion!
Guest Shows
In 2020 we the festival featured guest shows from all over the world that included: Improvised Head (The Electric Head), Improv Showdown (Improv Chatanooga), Cupid’s Carouse (Third Person Theatre), Comedy Friendzy (Sets Comedy Entertainment), El Zoompleaños de Fulanito (El Cumpleaños de Fulanito), Ashkey (Twoprov with Elke Reid and Ashley Edwards), Portsmouth Improv Experience, Improbotics and more. Workshops
In 2020 the festival included workshops from instructors that included Sarah Davies, David Escobedo, David Pustansky, Rhiannon Jenkins, Elke Reid and Christiane Brew. As workshops are added to the 2021 Festival they will be added to the schedule page.
Special Extreme Improv Shows
In addition to the Extreme Improv xstreamed World Championship shows, there will be several special editions of other in house Extreme Improv shows inlcuding Geek Battle, Totally Sketchy, Jesters Jam, Slam Jam Wrestling Show, Wham Bam Poetry Slam and Extreme Improv Revenge and more! Announcements of these will be added to the schedule page.
Other Activities
There will also be lots of other ways to get involved including Daily Joke Competitions, Art Competitions and more. Check the Extreme Improv Xstreamed social media channels for these daily events!
