Bray Isn’t Actually Released From WWE
OK, we’re in full conspiracy mode here, but what if Bray wasn’t actually released by WWE at all? Over the last few months we’ve seen former WWE wrestlers debut on AEW and get a build up of hype. This has only gone one way, as we’re yet to see an AEW star jump to WWE.
WWE will be aware of the hype around the rumours of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan heading to AEW, and WWE has seen their own big return of John Cena get lots of buzz. But WWE may have also noticed that Samoa Joe’s return to NXT got huge buzz at the time, and realistically his return only was buzz worthy because WWE had announced they had released him.
What if with a character like The Fiend, the WWE want to create maximum buzz for a eventually return by first announcing his shock release, and then no one will be expecting his return. This could also extend to Strowman, and for all we know the bait and switch release may become the new strand in wrestling in an age where the internet and twitter means fans think they know everything behind the scenes the moment it’s happened.
