4: Prison Break
Prison Break was such a compelling idea for a show. Every week it had constant tension and mystery as the clock ticked down further and further towards forwards the execution of Lincoln Burrows. His only hope was his brother Michael who created a plan to break him out from within the inside and famously had the blueprints of the whole prison tattooed on his torso to sneak them inside.
Memorable characters such as C-Note, Bellick and the monster who audiences can’t help but love T-bag made this one of the best shows when it first came on. Hate to be the broken record and again say that it waned somewhat as it went on, but whilst this did have a low point at around the third and forth seasons it did actually pick itself back up again to regain it’s tension.
3: Family Guy
Family Guy is one of the funniest shows over the past 20 years, and is easily described as Simpsons after dark. It’s weird going back and watching the first couple of seasons today as truthfully I don’t feel they hold up, but this is a show that was cancelled and after it came back had a noticeable change in direction and actually became a much better show for it.
Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie and Brian have done so much over the years and this show is a treat for anyone who loves edgy humour and pop culture references. Hopefully at some point Disney Plus will add The Cleveland Show to the service, but between Family Guy and American Dad there is plenty of the Seth MacFarlane brand of humour.
