Tech Battle Logitech Streamcam vs Logitech C920s Pro Webcam

If you’re looking for a good webcam, you can’t go wrong with either of the Logitech cameras we have on trial today. The Streamcam is designed with streamers in mind, and the C920s Pro is seen as a reliable camera with high quality features as well. The two differ in a number of ways and this includes cost and performance.

In this tech battle video we put the two to the test side by side so that you can decide which you think is best for your needs. See the video and judge the results of the camera built in mics yourself on the Geek Battle Gaming YouTube channel.

Video

Some of you will want a camera that is best for streaming a view of yourself when playing a video game on Twitch or YouTube, and others will want to look their best on Zoom when doing a virtual improv or theatre show. For some this will be overkill and you’ll just want a decent cam that works in low lighting conditions for video calls over Microsoft Teams for work.

As you’ll see on the video, the Streamcam produced better results in low light, but perhaps doesn’t have as rich a colour on skin tones. The C920s Pro is a lot more shadowy in lower lighting conditions, but looks great with some stream lights in play.

Microphone

Both cameras come with a built in microphone, and whilst I didn’t feel either was better than the option of having a separate mic as part of your setup, both would do just fine for basic purposes. If you’re serious about your streams or want to use the cameras for something like podcasting or recording audition tapes if you’re an actor, you’ll probably want a separate mic though. For me the Streamcam had the clearer audio whilst the C920s Pro sounded a bit too full and didn’t sound as rich.

Other features

The C920s Pro can tilt up and down, but not side to side. The Streamcam can do both. The C920s Pro came with a detachable lens cover and unless I’ve lost it in the fullness of time, the Streamcam doesn’t. The Streamcam does allow you to rotate the camera into portrait and landscape positions which is a nice feature if you plan to stream to platforms where vertical video is the norm.

Conclusion

The price of the Streamcam is higher than the C920s Pro, but both regularly go on sale which doesn’t leave that much between them. I think they’re both excellent choices for cameras but of the two I will give this to the Streamcam for it’s better use in different lighting conditions, better audio and ability to better change the position and rotation of the view.
