One of the best video game to movie adaptations ever was undoubtably Sonic the Hedgehog. After a delay to fix the scary face of Sonic when the original film’s trailer was released, the film based on Sega’s mascot surprised everyone to be really good.
That was a year ago, and today on the Official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account, it has been confirmed that the sequel will hit theatres on April 8th 2022. This will no doubt excite fans of the blue blur who loved the original and made it a hit last year.
This teaser doesn’t give us a look at any footage of the film, but does play familar Sonic music from the video games, and the number 2 is stylised to feature the colour and multiple tails of Sonic’s sidekick Tails.
Tails only appeared in a post credits tease at the end of the first film, and is expected to be a central character in this sequel which is expected to bring back many of the original film’s cast including Jim Carey as Dr Robotnik.
