In what is bound to be the biggest shock in the wrestling world this month, Ring of Honour have announced that following their Final Battle show in December this year, they will be taking a hiatus to reimagine the company. Following this reimagining they will not present new live shows until April next year.
As part of this pause on their activities they will release all talent from their contracts, and wrestlers are allowed to seek bookings elsewhere starting immediately.
Whilst Ring of Honor have stated they they intend to resume shows and operations from April next year, it is very difficult not to see this as them closing down. Ring of Honor along with the NWA was one of the bigger promotions not to continue shows during the pandemic. WWE, AEW and Impact Wrestling all continued activities in some form, but ROH didn’t. It would seem that the company may now have had a delayed reaction where they are effectively closing shop.
It can be expected that more news about this shocking story will come to light in the days to come. Stay tuned to Xstreamed.tv/wrestling for more wrestling news and articles.
