Ranking Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie

Black Widow

A prequel film that still manages to establish things for the future, this was the Black Widow movie that we should have gotten years earlier. There perhaps was too much focus on setting up the future so that Black Widow takes a backseat in her own movie a tad too much, and it’s unfortunate that the circumstances of the 2020 pandemic would see this delayed so much.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Perhaps not as good as the original, this is still loads of fun, and the quantum realm set up a big important piece of the MCU going forward. The charm and humour of Paul Rudd continues to carry the Ant Man movies, and it’s great to see him joined fully in this movie by Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp as a co-lead.

Spider-Man Homecoming

The first of the MCU Spider-Man films was another sign that the MCU could adapt around it’s characters to have different tones, and this team comedy will leave a smile on your face from start to end. Michael Keaton as Vulture is a great smaller scale villain and works well after so many world destroying villians had come and gone before.

Guardians of the Galaxy

The characters that were mostly unknown to the mainstream exploded onto the big screen and really brought the cosmic element to the MCU. Who would have thought a group of misfits that included a green girl, a racoon, a tree, a wrestler and the dude from Parks and Recreation would have been the hit it was?!

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is one of the most interesting characters in the MCU and Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect in the role. Doctor Strange is a visual treat with world bending scenes which give us those inception feels and a villian which hopefully will return at some point.

Ant-Man

Ant Man was another Marvel character which seemed unlikely to get his own movie just a few years before it happened. One of the great things with the MCU is the connected world has allowed lesser known characters to get into the spotlight and become superstars. Whilst this film didn’t debut as well as some of the more established characters it gave us the man who would one day be saved by the rat that saved the world!
