The Super Bowl is the biggest sports event of the year in the United States, and as well as the sports involved, many people get excited because there are guaranteed to be lots of high profile and elaborate commercials released. This year was no different, and along with Winona Ryder reprising her role from Edward Scissorhands, the biggest highlight came in the release of the first official trailer for the upcoming Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The good news is that we will be getting the series next month in March 2021. This is a smart move by Disney as it will give another huge Marvel series for fans to get straight into after WandaVision wraps up, and will combat Justice League The Snyder Cut on HBO Max, for any audience who were considering making the jump.
You can watch the trailer above, and as you’ll see, the show looks just as exciting and action packed as any of the MCU movies. The story of the show picks up after the events of Avengers End Game, and looks to be a more direct sequel to the Captain America thread of films. This is to be expected with the focus on Bucky and Falcon who were Steve Rogers closest allies.
The six part series is believed to be the most expensive original TV series ever produced. With incredible stunts and special FX, and top tier Marvel stars like Anthony Mackie on board this should come as no surprise.
Daniel Bruhl is also returning as his Captain America Civil War character Helmut Zemo, who was last seen in that film attempting to kill himself by prevented by Black Panther. What the character has been up to between then and now is unknown, but we’re certain to learn more in the series when it starts next month on March 19th on Disney Plus.
