Eerie Indiana Episode 2 The Retainer Review

Eerie Indiana Episode 2 The Retainer Review

The second adventure of Marshall and Simon has them meet a boy called Steve who has a retainer on his teeth that lets him hear the voices of dogs. It’s stuff of childhood imagination to wonder what our dog friends are thinking…and to be honest I still wonder that as an adult. The idea of wearing braces on your teeth and it picking up the frequency that dogs communicate on is loads of fun.

The show does address the obvious of why are the dogs thinking in English f explains it away instantly with ‘maybe we’re speaking dog’.

The episode continues the shows sense of creepy things happening right under our noses and as much of a lover of dogs as I am, this is still good enough to make mr think they could be planning a revolution under our noses.

A but like the first episode, I once again found myself somewhat on the side of the bad guys here. Firstly, I’ll always be on the side of a dog, and secondly, hearing what the dogs wanted to not be in cages or sleep outside is more than reasonable.

The episode is well made considering this was done on a budget and before cgi. The dogs all played their parts perfectly to give things a sinister vibe. Like the first episode, this one also leaves a mystery of the fate over its guest characters.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
