Like an RKO from Randy Orton, this move by WWE has come outta nowehere. It was announced by WWE and NBC that the streaming service Peacock will be the exclusive home of all WWE Network content in the United States.
Starting on March 18th, the streaming service will apparently begin a rollout of the WWE’s 17,000 hours of Network content. It’s not clear currently how much of the content that viewers can already enjoy on the Network will immediately be available on the service, or if it will move over in sections.
Stated to be a multi-year deal, this will actually see the service effectively reduced to half price to $4.99 a month for an ad-supported version of Peacock, or remain at the current $9.99 price point of the network for an ad-free version. Either way this is a remarkable increase in value for money as in addition to all of the WWE programming, you’ll also get access to the rest of the content offered by Peacock that includes shows such as the new Saved By The Bell series, Two and a Half Men, Heroes, Frasier, and movies such as Psych 2, American Psycho, Jurassic Park, Fletch and many more.
The service is currently only available in the US, and the WWE Network is expected to continue to run as a standalone service in other countries such as the UK.
